HealthLit ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and a hashed version of your password. If you sign in with Apple, we receive your Apple user identifier and, optionally, your email address.

Device Information: We generate a random device identifier stored locally on your device to provide personalized recommendations without requiring account creation.

Usage Data: We collect information about which articles you read, your selected health categories, and reading history to personalize your experience.

Subscription Data: If you subscribe to HealthLit Premium, payment processing is handled entirely by Apple through In-App Purchases. We do not collect or store your payment information. We receive confirmation of your subscription status from RevenueCat.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Provide personalized daily health literature recommendations
• Save your reading history and preferences
• Manage your subscription status
• Improve our content and recommendation algorithms
• Send verification emails when you register an account

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers. Passwords are hashed using industry-standard cryptographic methods. We use HTTPS for all data transmission. We retain your data for as long as your account is active.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties, except:

• RevenueCat: To manage subscription status
• Apple: For Sign in with Apple authentication and In-App Purchase processing
• Resend: To deliver verification and transactional emails

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Update your account information
• Delete your account and all associated data at any time through the app's Settings page
• Opt out of personalized recommendations by adjusting your category preferences

6. Children's Privacy

HealthLit is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
